A Quarterly Professional Observance

The Opal Standard of Care™

Where care flows both directions.

Nurses give their backs, their sleep, their holidays, their health, and their presence—often quietly, often without recognition. The Opal Standard of Care™ is CARE-INF's quarterly moment of remembrance, unity, and action—honoring nurses whose lives reflect the highest ideals of the profession, and ensuring the profession shows up for nurses when hardship comes.

Understanding the Standard

What It Is

The Opal Standard of Care

The Opal Standard of Care™ is a quarterly observance dedicated to honoring nurses whose commitment to care reflects excellence, integrity, and stewardship.

Inspired by the quiet strength and lifelong service of a woman named Opal, this standard affirms a principle we refuse to abandon:

Care must flow in both directions—nurse to patient, and profession back to nurse.

This is not a fundraiser campaign. It is a professional covenant: a recurring, disciplined moment where we honor nursing, strengthen solidarity, and support nurses in real life through the CARE-INF™ Nurse Emergency/Hardship Impact Fund.
